100% Pure was one of the first companies I learned about when I switched over to natural, green beauty. The company is well known for using fruit dyes in all of their makeup (yep, even their foundations and tinted moisturizers use fruit dyes). However, their price point has always been out of my reach and I could never convince myself to buy just one product unless there was some sort of perk included. So, when 100% Pure was having a “We ♥ Our Customers” event about a month and a half ago that included a bundle of products with a $45 purchase, I immediately jumped on that offer! Now, I’ve had more than enough time to share an honest review of the products in my order and for the most part I loved almost everything! Unfortunately, there were some hits and misses in my mini-haul. So, let’s get into it!
If you haven’t read my June 2015 Favorites post yet, go on over and check it out! This scrub is by far one of the best scrubs I have used to date thanks to its rough, fine grit while still leaving your skin hydrated and smooth! If you don’t know, coffee is great for combating cellulite and just rejuvenating your skin all over! I wouldn’t recommend to use this on your face though because it’s far to rough and may do more harm than good.
My skin kind of falls in between the combination/oily to normal spectrum, and even though I sometimes do get greasy and oily I still need a moisturizer for days when my skin just feels downright parched. And that’s where this uber thick balm comes into play! If you’re not familiar with a a face balm it’s very similar to a lip balm…just for your face! So, the balm is a thick, almost waxy feeling product, but don’t worry this 100% Pure balm doesn’t actually contain wax in it. It’s chock full of nourishing ingredients like avocado butter, organic shea butter, sea buckthorn oil, organic green tea, Vitamins C and E.
To apply at night time (it may be too heavy to use during the day), I like to warm a slightly larger than pea-sized amount of balm in my hands for a few seconds beforehand just so it’s easier to smooth over my face. Now, this balm is thick so dry skin types will love this whereas oilier skin types will probably not enjoy the heavy feeling this balm gives. I personally like it because I feel like my skin is being pampered and treated to all the goodness that it can sometimes lack and by the time I wake up the next morning, my skin feels baby soft! I definitely recommend this intensive balm if you suffer from extreme dryness/flaky skin because your skin will drink it up!
This was definitely first item that caught my eye in the “We ♥ Our Customers” bundle and it’s was persuaded me to place an order in the first place. First off, this palette retails at $45, which is crazy expensive in my opinion. Second, this palette was included for FREE with 3 OTHER PRODUCTS. Like, what?? I don’t know how 100% Pure made money honestly because they were giving away so much for free. Anywho, this palette is actually pretty darn good! They aren’t the most pigmented shades you can find in the green beauty world and the products do have quite a lot of fall out when you swirl your brush in them, but for being a free add-on I’m still pleased! The Pretty Naked Palette comes a luminescent powder called Luminizer, a blush called Pretty Naked, and three eyeshadows: Flax Seed, Toffee, and Chestnut.
Luminizer is a pinky champagne highlighter that adds a lovely highlight than can be used on your cheeks, nose or anywhere you want to glow! I know it’s hard to see in the photo above, but it really adds a nice glow to the face. I haven’t actually used it as often, but I can tell you that this highlighter isn’t extreme and is actually on the more natural glow-from-within side.
The Pretty Naked blush is an absolute favorite blush of mine! It’s a deeper, neutral shade of pink that gives you a subtle rosy pink flush to your cheeks. The formula of this blush is like butter, but I notice that it does kick up a lot of product if you’re not careful.
Flax Seed is a light neutral pink color that is perfect as an all-over lid color. It has a slight sheen to it, but it’s not overtly shimmery nor is it completely matte. I have no trouble blending it out and sometimes I like to use it on its own!
Toffee is more of a neutral brown/taupe-y color that also has a slight sheen to it. I like using this color in my crease more than using it all over my lid because it adds a subtle depth to my eyes.
Chestnut is the darkest color and is more on the dark brown side and it has a very fine gold shimmer throughout. I love using this as a crease color and I also like to use it solely in the outer corners of my eyes. My only complaint is that it takes a while to build up the color, but if you’re patient enough then it shouldn’t be too much of hassle.
Now, this second product in the “We ♥ Our Customers” bundle shocked me the first time I used this. Pomegranate is a very vibrant berry color that can provide a sheer stain of color or it can be layered to create a more opaque look. Even though this lip butter boasts ingredients like avocado oil, shea butter, and rosehip oil, I don’t feel like my lips are being extremely hydrated so I definitely advise using a lip balm underneath for that extra moisture. The color payoff is truly what makes this a stand out product and I love to use it on days where my face needs a pop of color. The tin packaging is also super adorable and easy to travel with. You can use your fingers to apply this product, but I think a lip pencil is the best way to go because your fingers can get stained easily.
Onto the third product! The terms “creamy” and “long last” shouldn’t go together, in my opinion, because it sounds like an oxymoron. And while this liner is very creamy and glides like a dream, it doesn’t truly last forever. It’s best uses through my trial and error are for smudging and for use in the waterline. It also sharpens like a dream which is an added bonus! Would I necessarily spend $22 on this once I’ve used up the one I have? I don’t think would. I believe there are far better natural eye liners out there that do the trick and more.
Ever since I switched over to non-toxic beauty products I’ve heard fantastic stories about this particular mascara and I’ve also heard some not so nice things. This last product in the “We ♥ Our Customers” bundle was a definite flop for me. In terms of ingredients this mascara has everything going for it! There’s organic green tea, oat protein, wheat protein, blackberry extract and bunch of good-for-you ingredients! Unfortunately, it smears on my lower lash line and it doesn’t really add any sort of wow-factor to my lashes. The wand is also kind weird. The ends are much fatter, while the middle is more thinner. This makes for a very large and bulky wand to maneuver around. But hey, there are people who absolutely love this mascara. I just happen to not be one of those people, so don’t take my word for it! Who knows, you may actually fall in love with this mascara!
To sum it all up, 100% Pure definitely has some standouts, but there are a couple of products that do miss the mark. Overall, I was very happy with my purchase and with the “We ♥ Our Customers” steal I felt like I got a great number of products for the value I paid. I may just look into their skincare products a bit more because I’m genuinely curious about their moisturizers with SPF. 100% Pure’s products are a bit pricey, but then again you are getting products that are made with fruit pigments and so many other natural, non-toxic, safe ingredients. Let me know what you love from 100% Pure! I really want to try out a few more products! See you in the next one!
